On Friday, March 19, 2010, I trapped a ferrell cat that had been living in my neighborhood.
On March 19th, a neighbor said she was going to catch the cat that she has been feeding, so I decided to trap the cat that I was feeding. Unexpectedly, I trapped her on my first try. I don’t like leaving cats in traps, so I called my vet and asked them to board the cat until he/she could be examined and spayed/neutered Monday morning. I took the cat to Laytonsville Vetinary Practice for her 3 night hotel stay.
The vet called Monday morning and said the cat was female, but she couldn’t be spayed yet, because she was producing milk. The cat possibly had a recent litter or she had a false pregnancy. The vet said wait 2 weeks then bring her back to be spayed. I felt bad thinking that there might be kittens outside, but I couldn’t imagine kittens surviving our last big snow storm.
The vet also said that the staff fell in love with the cat. She said, “this cat is friendly to every person that goes by her cage.” The vet even offered to keep the cat after she was spayed and find her a home. I was definitely very shocked and grateful for the vet’s offer. Now we know she will get a good home. The vet said she is in good condition except for being too thin and having a rough coat.
So she is back home with Mary Kay and myself until Monday, April 5, 2010. We haven’t even picked out a temporary name for her. But I don’t think she cares as long as she gets wet food and attention.
She Was Adopted April 21, 2010.
